What is Eligible?
Cadense Adaptive Shoes are HSA- and FSA-eligible footwear designed to assist individuals with walking difficulties, including those with foot drop, multiple sclerosis, stroke recovery, and other mobility challenges.
We recommend checking with your HSA/FSA provider to confirm eligibility, as specific plan rules may vary.

How do I purchase with an HSA or FSA Card?
- Add your Cadense products to cart and proceed to checkout.
- When you reach the payment section, select “Flex | Pay with HSA/FSA.”
- Enter your HSA or FSA debit card information and finish checkout as usual.
*Note: If you don’t see the “Flex | Pay with HSA/FSA” option, you may be in Shop Pay. Simply choose “Checkout as Guest” to view all available payment methods.
What if my order has both eligible and non-eligible items?
No problem — you’ll be able to enter your HSA/FSA card and your regular credit/debit card on the same screen.
What if my HSA or FSA card is declined?
If your HSA or FSA card is declined at checkout, it may be due to insufficient funds or specific plan restrictions. Here’s what you can do:
- Ensure you have enough funds in your HSA or FSA account.
- Confirm that the information you entered in checkout is correct.
- Check with your provider to ensure that Cadense shoes qualify under your plan.
- Use a regular credit card to complete your purchase and submit the receipt to your provider for reimbursement.
Many HSA/FSA providers allow manual reimbursement. If your purchase is eligible, you can submit your order receipt to your plan administrator for potential reimbursement.
What if I don't have my HSA/FSA card available?
If you don’t have your HSA or FSA card handy, still select “Flex | Pay with HSA/FSA” as your payment method. Enter your credit card information and Flex will email you an itemized receipt to submit for reimbursement.
Can I split my payment between an HSA/FSA card and another card?
Some HSA and FSA providers allow partial authorization, meaning you can pay for part of your order with your HSA or FSA card and the rest with a regular credit or debit card. If your provider does not allow partial payments, you may need to use another payment method and submit a receipt for reimbursement.
Can make a return on a purchase made with my HSA/FSA card?
Cadense offers a 30-day trial, allowing you to try the shoes and return them if they’re not the right fit.
- If you paid with an HSA or FSA card, refunds must be processed back to the same card per IRS regulations.
- Refunds will be issued within 10 business days of receiving the return.
- Only open and active HSA or FSA accounts are eligible for refunds.
