Why we made this shoe

We have designed the first truly adaptive shoe in the world for people with walking difficulties. Often they can't lift their foot enough to clear the ground when taking a step forward. In order to not trip they shuffle or develop a different coping mechanism.

Our Cadense Original Adaptive Shoe features groundbreaking, patented variable friction technology. It allows its wearer to slide over obstacles with ease and develop a more normal gait.

But we have not stopped there. We made sure that the first truly adaptive shoe also feels like walking on clouds and looks stunning.

Product Details

AFO compatibility: Our shoes might work with your AFO depending on its size. If you currently are able to fit your AFO into a shoe in a regular or Wide (E) width shoe, it should work with Cadense shoes.

Toe box: Our toe box is very generously spaced.

Weight of the shoe: About 13 oz per shoe – Men's size 9 was used as reference.

Heel to Toe Drop: Standard 3/8".

Shoe sole height: Our shoe sole measures about 1.5 inches throughout. The height is needed to allow the variable friction technology to work properly and it also makes for a very comfortable walking experience.

Great but….

Very impressed with how it makes it easier to walk. I wish the wide size was wider and that the Velcro shoelace was a bit longer.

Thank you for your feedback! We’re so glad to hear that Cadense shoes have made walking easier for you—that’s exactly our goal. We truly appreciate your suggestions about the width and Velcro length. Your insights are invaluable as we continue to refine and improve our designs to meet the needs of our community.

Game changer

I have CIDP and found Cadense a year ago. It's a game changer. I was tripping because my right foot would drop and catch the carpet or my regular tennis shoes would grab the tile floor and I would fall. I still use a cane or walker when I am in a crowd because of balance issues but the Cadense shoes have returned confidence in my walking. I put them on as soon as I get out of bed and take them off when I go to bed.

Perfect at home, disappointing at outside

My husband was diagnosed with MS in 2018 and he suffers from foot drop. He tried Cadense shoes firstly at home and his experience was perfect especially on the smooth surfaces. But it was disappointing at the outside. After the first step, slider plates under the shoes wasn't be felt its specialty. It doesnot slide anymore although my husband walked on just an asphaft or pavement.

Frequently asked questions

Who are Cadense adaptive shoes for?

We have created the Cadense Original adaptive sneaker for people experiencing walking difficulties. Our shoe may help seniors with walking difficulties, individuals experiencing foot drop, stroke patients, people with multiple-sclerosis, or cerebral palsy.

How do Cadense Adaptive shoes work?

Cadense adaptive shoes use our proprietary, patent-pending variable friction technology.

Low-friction elements on the shoe sole allow you the slide over everyday obstacles like uneven pavements. High friction rubber parts get activated when weight is placed on the shoe and allow you to stop and toe-off as needed.
