Outstanding Customer Service

Why we made this shoe

We have designed the first truly adaptive shoe in the world for people with walking difficulties. Often they can't lift their foot enough to clear the ground when taking a step forward. In order to not trip they shuffle or develop a different coping mechanism.

Our Cadense Original Adaptive Shoe features groundbreaking, patented variable friction technology. It allows its wearer to slide over obstacles with ease and develop a more normal gait.

But we have not stopped there. We made sure that the first truly adaptive shoe also feels like walking on clouds and looks stunning.

Product Details

AFO compatibility: Our shoes might work with your AFO depending on its size. If you currently are able to fit your AFO into a shoe in a regular or Wide (E) width shoe, it should work with Cadense shoes.

Toe box: Our toe box is very generously spaced.

Weight of the shoe: About 13 oz per shoe – Men's size 9 was used as reference.

Heel to Toe Drop: Standard 3/8".

Shoe sole height: Our shoe sole measures about 1.5 inches throughout. The height is needed to allow the variable friction technology to work properly and it also makes for a very comfortable walking experience.

Best shoes I've ever owned..

I was struggling each day with walking due to drop foot and a hip replacement issue that made my walking each day very difficult and exhausting. I discovered Cadence shoes and was amazed at how wonderful they are. I now ordered a second pair and words cannot describe the difference they have made. I highly recommend these shoes if you have any kind of walking issues.

No more tripping!

Absolutely love these shoes! They allow me to slide my feet over all the things that want to grab my feet and make me trip. I wore out my first pair in two months from walking on the pavement at breaktime at work, but they gave me the freedom to be able to walk outside at breaktime at work.

These shoes really helped me out with my recent overseas vacation

I had spinal fusion surgery in 2023. My back pain was fixed however I have had foot and balance issues since the surgery that haven’t gotten better. I decided it was finally time to go and visit our family in the Philippines and saw your product advertised a month before our trip. I decided to give it a try, not really sure what to expect..

I had no issues with the transition period. I also found putting the shoes in to be much easier for me than my regular pair. They slip on easy and the Velcro strap hold snugly without needing to slide through clasps and hoops. Very nice design on that.

The big trip came and I found myself being able to walk comfortably in your shoes. They’re no cure for my physical issues, however they certainly do provide a sense of balance that I haven’t felt with my normal New Balance (no pun intended) shoes, making me able to go for longer walks and less stressful ones for myself and my wife and family.

The only negative I have is that the material gets dirty quite easily and it was difficult to keep clean simply with a damp cloth. We were in an environment with a lot of dirt, gravel, etc and the canvas top is the one area I’d like to see changed to a more premium top.

I’m going to give these shoes a 5 star rating as they do exactly what they said they were meant to do. I could take off a star for the nylon top retaining dirt, however that to me is more of a factor of the environment we were in for our vacation.

Frequently asked questions

Who are Cadense adaptive shoes for?

We have created the Cadense Original adaptive sneaker for people experiencing walking difficulties. Our shoe may help seniors with walking difficulties, individuals experiencing foot drop, stroke patients, people with multiple-sclerosis, or cerebral palsy.

How do Cadense Adaptive shoes work?

Cadense adaptive shoes use our proprietary, patent-pending variable friction technology.

Low-friction elements on the shoe sole allow you the slide over everyday obstacles like uneven pavements. High friction rubber parts get activated when weight is placed on the shoe and allow you to stop and toe-off as needed.
