Outstanding Customer Service

Why we made this shoe

We have designed the first truly adaptive shoe in the world for people with walking difficulties. Often they can't lift their foot enough to clear the ground when taking a step forward. In order to not trip they shuffle or develop a different coping mechanism.

Our Cadense Original Adaptive Shoe features groundbreaking, patented variable friction technology. It allows its wearer to slide over obstacles with ease and develop a more normal gait.

But we have not stopped there. We made sure that the first truly adaptive shoe also feels like walking on clouds and looks stunning.

Product Details

AFO compatibility: Our shoes might work with your AFO depending on its size. If you currently are able to fit your AFO into a shoe in a regular or Wide (E) width shoe, it should work with Cadense shoes.

Toe box: Our toe box is very generously spaced.

Weight of the shoe: About 13 oz per shoe – Men's size 9 was used as reference.

Heel to Toe Drop: Standard 3/8".

Shoe sole height: Our shoe sole measures about 1.5 inches throughout. The height is needed to allow the variable friction technology to work properly and it also makes for a very comfortable walking experience.

A great shoe!!

I am 76 yo man who has injuries from the Vietnamese war. And in 2010 I was diagnosed with MS. My left leg was affected and my balance. Over the years I have had many PT sessions. I have been searching for shoes that fit right and helped with my gait and balance. These shoes are the best I have ever worn, they fit well and feel great. I suggest you follow the instructions about how to get use to the shoes it works.

Great for my Dad

My Dad has two drop feet and there are very few shoes he can wear. I was very excited when he put these on and they were an option for him. The reason for the four stars is that that they were slippery on some floor surfaces and he almost fell, which was almost a deal breaker. Luckily, I cut and put non-slip grips on the outer part of the bottoms and this helped him be able to navigate his walking with the use of his walker of course. I would still recommend them because we have gone through many shoe styles and only two have worked for him to not snag his toes. They do provide him the ability to continue to walk and he now has two shoes styles to choose from, which may seem like a small thing but for a person who use to walk for a living, this is a big deal.

Best shoes

These are the best shoes I have ever found for my husband with Parkinson’s. Easy to get on and he can even walk some again with these.

Benefits of Adaptive Shoes

Due to the effects of a rear end hit and run collision I’ve experienced multiple mobility and stability issues. I have greatly increased my mobility thanks to these shoes. They are fantastic and even improved my mobility with non-adaptive shoes which is an added benefit.

They are also comfortable and stylish. Highly recommended.

Helped with stability issues

Been wearing my Cadence shoes for a few weeks and they have definitely helped me with my stability issues. If I may make a suggestion: put the Velcro closures on the inside of the shoes instead of the outside. Many of us (well, me) who have stability issues also have problems with flexibility. Easier to reach the inside of the foot than the outside

Frequently asked questions

Who are Cadense adaptive shoes for?

We have created the Cadense Original adaptive sneaker for people experiencing walking difficulties. Our shoe may help seniors with walking difficulties, individuals experiencing foot drop, stroke patients, people with multiple-sclerosis, or cerebral palsy.

How do Cadense Adaptive shoes work?

Cadense adaptive shoes use our proprietary, patent-pending variable friction technology.

Low-friction elements on the shoe sole allow you the slide over everyday obstacles like uneven pavements. High friction rubber parts get activated when weight is placed on the shoe and allow you to stop and toe-off as needed.
