On Episode 6 of The Mobility Mission, we had the privilege of sitting down with Matthew Price, co-founder of Modified by MS, to hear his powerful story of resilience, faith, and community building in the face of multiple sclerosis (MS).
Matthew was diagnosed with MS at age 36 while working full-time in the hospitality industry. After struggling for years with traditional disease-modifying treatments—including one that landed him in the ER with anaphylactic shock—he decided to take a different path. In 2016, he traveled to Clinica Ruiz in Mexico for Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplant (HSCT). He went in with a cane—and walked out without one.
But that’s just the beginning.
Inspired by his journey, Matthew and his wife Rebecca started Modified by MS, a nonprofit designed to support individuals and families navigating MS. What began as a small Zoom call during the pandemic has grown into a thriving community with weekly groups like:
- Men with MS
- Women with MS
- Overcomers (for the newly diagnosed)
- United (for couples)
- Connected (for caregivers)
The organization also launched MADE FOR MORE ~ 2025, a new initiative for donating gently used medical equipment to those in need, and is planning its first community conference.
Matthew shares what drives him today: walking each of his four daughters down the aisle (three down, one to go), practicing daily self-care, and encouraging others to live fully—not just survive, but thrive. His personal motto?
The best way to learn more about Modified by MS is through their website. You connect with Matthew and his team or support their cause with a donation.
