Why we made this shoe

We have designed the first truly adaptive shoe in the world for people with walking difficulties. Often they can't lift their foot enough to clear the ground when taking a step forward. In order to not trip they shuffle or develop a different coping mechanism.

Our Cadense Original Women's Adaptive Shoe features groundbreaking, patented variable friction technology. It allows its wearer to slide over obstacles with ease and develop a more normal gait.

But we have not stopped there. We made sure that the first truly adaptive shoe also feels like walking on clouds and looks stunning.

Product Details

AFO compatibility: Our shoes might work with your AFO depending on its size. If you currently are able to fit your AFO into a shoe in a regular or Wide (D) width shoe, it should work with Cadense shoes.

Toe box: Our toe box is very generously spaced.

Weight of the shoe: About 10.8 oz per shoe – Women's size 8 was used as reference.

Heel to Toe Drop: Standard 3/8".

Shoe sole height: Our shoe sole measures about 1.5 inches throughout. The height is needed to allow the variable friction technology to work properly and it also makes for a very comfortable walking experience.

Life changing!

My wife ( 47 MS ) has struggled with her walking. These shoes have made a tremendous difference in her walking and confidence of no longer stumbling. I noticed that she keeps her shoes on from Sun up to Sun down and I questioned it? She is more comfortable in your shoes than with out. Honestly it’s money well spent.

Thank you so much for sharing your wife’s story! It’s incredibly moving to hear how Cadense shoes have made such a tremendous difference in her walking and confidence. Knowing that she feels comfortable enough to wear them from sunup to sundown means the world to us—it’s the highest compliment we could receive.

Your words, “money well spent,” truly resonate and remind us why we’re dedicated to creating products that empower mobility and improve lives. If there’s anything we can do to further support her journey, please don’t hesitate to reach out at support@cadense.com.

Wishing you and your wife continued ease, confidence, and joyful steps together!

First Pair

These were for my girlfriend who has MS. She loves the shoes. They really help her get around easier. She’s unable to walk freely, but with her walker they help get her around. It would be nice if the plastic part could be on the toe as well to help pull her foot forward. And maybe a little bit more Velcro to help hold the strap. Overall, this is a fantastic product. That looks good. Feels good and helps move very well.

Hi Hanna, thank you for your feedback. We will be adding an optional plastic part for the tip of the shoe in the near future. Please make sure to stay signed up to our emails to receive the announcement information.

I am a 78 year old with ALS. I have foot drop in one foot. I bought a size up and wide due to swelling. These shoes definitely have improved my walking with much less "catching" on carpet as well as hard surfaces. I like the style. They were comfortable right out of the box. I have only two complaints. The velcro closure often comes unattached when I flex my ankle. Also the heel always folds inward when I put the shoes on. In spite of my complaints, I have ordered
a second pair.

Thank you so much for sharing your experience and for trusting Cadense to support your mobility! We’re thrilled to hear that the shoes have improved your walking on carpets and hard surfaces and that you found them comfortable right out of the box. It’s wonderful to know they’ve made such a positive difference for you.

We truly appreciate your feedback about the Velcro closure and the heel folding inward when putting them on. We’re always looking to improve, and your insights are incredibly valuable in guiding our product development. A tip that might help with the heel is using a shoehorn to prevent it from folding—it can make slipping them on easier.

Thank you for ordering a second pair—it means the world to us that you’re finding the shoes helpful despite the challenges you mentioned. If you’d like, our team is here to help with any further questions or tips for use! Please don’t hesitate to reach out at support@cadense.com.

Wishing you continued ease and confidence in every step!

Safety

I have foot drop due to multiple sclerosis and these shoes have helped me immensely. I feel a lot more confident walking. In my book, that's a huge plus. I currently own two pairs of the cadence shoes, they are very comfortable and they look good. I've even had compliments on the the way these shoes look.

Frequently asked questions

Who are the shoes for?

We have created the Cadense Original adaptive sneaker for people experiencing walking difficulties. Our shoe may help seniors with walking difficulties, individuals experiencing foot drop, stroke patients, people with multiple-sclerosis, or cerebral palsy.

How do Cadense Adaptive Shoes work?

Cadense adaptive shoes use our proprietary, patent-pending variable friction technology.

Low-friction elements on the shoe sole allow you the slide over everyday obstacles like uneven pavements. High friction rubber parts get activated when weight is placed on the shoe and allow you to stop and toe-off as needed.
