Toe Assist Kit – Extend Your Glide, Protect Your Step
The Cadense Toe Assist Kit is a small but powerful add-on designed to enhance the performance and durability of your Cadense Adaptive Shoes. Engineered for individuals with steep foot drop or those who tend to drag their toes, this front-facing puck attaches securely to the tip of your shoe, extending the low-friction surface all the way to the front edge. Whether you're new to Cadense or a longtime user, the Toe Assist Kit helps reduce friction at the tip of the shoe and prolong the life of your shoes.
What's Included?
The Cadense Toe Assist Kit includes: 1 toe assist puck, 1 alcohol cleaning pad, and 1 tape primer.
How the Toe Assist Kit Works — Explained by Dr. Tyler Susko
Who It’s For
The Toe Assist Kit is for anyone with severe toe drag or a sharp foot angle when stepping forward. It’s also great if you’ve worn through the front of your shoes or want extra glide and support from heel to toe.

Why It Was Developed
Some users strike the very front of the shoe before the built-in pucks engage—causing faster wear. The Toe Assist Kit adds a front glide puck to improve sliding, reduce pressure, and help your pucks last longer.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need the Toe Assist Kit with my first pair of Cadense shoes?
Not necessarily. Most users don’t require the kit. But if you have a very steep foot drop angle, drag your toes noticeably, or often wear out the tip of your shoes, the Toe Assist Kit may offer better performance and durability from day one.
Can I add this to an older pair of Cadense shoes?
Yes. It’s a perfect upgrade for anyone who’s starting to see puck wear near the front of the shoe. It can help extend the life of your soles and improve function.
How is it installed?
Installing the Toe Assist Kit is quick and easy — it takes about 10 minutes and just three simple steps. If you prefer not to install it yourself, we recommend asking someone with good hand strength and dexterity for assistance, or visiting your local shoe repair shop.
Step 1: Clean the tip of your shoe using the included alcohol cleaning pad. Let it dry completely.
Step 2: Apply the tape primer to the same area and allow it to dry fully.
Step 3: Peel off the red backing from the adhesive on the Toe Assist Puck, carefully align it with the tip of the shoe, and press firmly for one minute.
*For best results, allow the adhesive to cure for 72 hours to ensure maximum strength.
Will this change how the shoes feel or perform?
The Cadense Toe Assist Kit is specifically designed for individuals who tend to drag the toes of their shoes while walking. By extending the low-friction surface to the tip of the shoe, the pucks make it easier to glide over surfaces—even at steeper angles—providing added support for toe-drag gait patterns.
However, please note that this low-friction enhancement at the toe may reduce grip during toe-off for users with strong push-off forces on the affected side. For this reason, tip pucks are not pre-installed on all Cadense Original shoes, but they can be a valuable add-on for those who benefit from improved glide at the toe.
Can I use this kit with other types of shoes?
No. The Toe Assist Kit is designed specifically for Cadense Original Shoes and may not function properly on other footwear.
Does installing the Toe Assist Pucks void the return of my Cadense Originals?
No, installing the Toe Assist Pucks doesn’t void the return policy for your Cadense Originals. However, we strongly recommend making sure your shoes fit well and that you’re happy with them before applying the pucks, since they need to be glued on.
