Continue ShoppingOur AFO shoes are specifically designed to fit over ankle-foot orthoses (AFOs) and are higher-volume than standard footwear. If you normally wear Cadense Originals, please note that AFO sizing is not comparable. Do not use the Originals size guide — use the guidance below.
The Cadense AFO shoe measures one size longer than standard footwear to provide extra room for your brace. Therefore, most customers should select their regular shoe size - the size that you would wear without an AFO.
If your AFO does NOT extend behind the heel, size down, or order your usual US shoe size.
If your AFO extends behind the heel, order your usual US shoe size, or consider sizing up depending on how far it extends past the heel.

The difference between E/3E/6E is the amount of volume through the upper, including the instep, girth, and top-of-foot clearance, to accommodate different brace bulk and swelling.

Each pair of AFO shoes includes three removable shoe fillers, each 5 mm thick.

You can use one, two, or all three fillers, depending on your needs. This allows you to comfortably size up for your AFO without sacrificing fit on your other foot.
