Outstanding Customer Service

Why we made this shoe

We have designed the first truly adaptive shoe in the world for people with walking difficulties. Often they can't lift their foot enough to clear the ground when taking a step forward. In order to not trip they shuffle or develop a different coping mechanism.

Our Cadense Original Adaptive Shoe features groundbreaking, patented variable friction technology. It allows its wearer to slide over obstacles with ease and develop a more normal gait.

But we have not stopped there. We made sure that the first truly adaptive shoe also feels like walking on clouds and looks stunning.

Product Details

AFO compatibility: Our shoes might work with your AFO depending on its size. If you currently are able to fit your AFO into a shoe in a regular or Wide (2E) width shoe, it should work with Cadense shoes.

Toe box: Our toe box is very generously spaced.

Weight of the shoe: About 13 oz per shoe – Men's size 9 was used as reference.

Heel to Toe Drop: Standard 3/8".

Shoe sole height: Our shoe sole measures about 1.5 inches throughout. The height is needed to allow the variable friction technology to work properly and it also makes for a very comfortable walking experience.

Takes a lot of the thinking out walking down the street

I am absolutely loving my Cadense shoes. I have MS and suffer with foot drop, which makes walking pretty difficult and staying upright an exercise in deep concentration. Then make walking everywhere so much easier! The nylon slides at the front are a revelation. Why didn’t someone think of this earlier!! Please make house slippers with these things on them!

Foot drop issue

I always have to be mindful about my right foot when walking in my regular shoes. One misstep and the foot catches and down I go. With the Cadense shoe my worries are over. The shoe is comfortable and easy to put on when the foot drops the shoe skips and I remain erect. A great investment for a peace of mind.

Mens Cadense

These shoes are comfortable, they look good and are working as advertised. I'm sure I will be buying another pair soon. I want a pair for everyday and one that will stay "looking good" when we do other activities.
We have hardwood stairs so I needed to be sure my heel was down first when descending the stairs.

Our Best Hope Yet

My 82 yr old father experienced a massive stroke in Dec ‘21. Left side weakness is extreme. He may never walk alone, as his left hand/arm cannot help to control a walker. However, he is currently using his Cadense left shoe to walk along a rail in Physical Therapy. So much better than the plastic bag we previously used! If he never does walk alone, at least he can get stronger in assisting my mother in getting him in and out of car. He does have a Cionic sleeve, but says the Cadense shoe is his best help thus far.

Frequently asked questions

Who are Cadense adaptive shoes for?

We have created the Cadense Original adaptive sneaker for people experiencing walking difficulties. Our shoe may help seniors with walking difficulties, individuals experiencing foot drop, stroke patients, people with multiple-sclerosis, or cerebral palsy.

How do Cadense Adaptive shoes work?

Cadense adaptive shoes use our proprietary, patent-pending variable friction technology.

Low-friction elements on the shoe sole allow you the slide over everyday obstacles like uneven pavements. High friction rubber parts get activated when weight is placed on the shoe and allow you to stop and toe-off as needed.
